Emologist [Career]

Definition

Doctor of Emotions

Slogan

"When you cry with your patients, your tears join in the washing away of wounds."

Quote

"It is difficult to heal a patient's emotions, if the therapist cannot express their own."

Show They Care

Emologists can actually show they care about their patients by hugging their patients, holding their patient's hands, crying for their patients.
This is a direct contrast to traditional therapy which calls for the therapist to keep a "professional distance" from their patient.
Real healing cannot take place this way.

Patient

"I thought I didn't need hugs, that I was tough, but when the Emologist hugged me, and I could FEEL that my pain made them sad, really sad, the dams inside of me broke, and I cried like a baby."
"It felt...like the weight of the world was lifted off my shoulders...finally..."

Crying

Emo-Ologist's teach their patients how to cry,
they teach their patients that it is good to cry,
that crying is a release mechanism,
crying is a powerful form of communication.

Training

Emologists are trained to "channel" their emotions so they are not overwhelmed by them.

Since Emologists use their own emotions to heal their patients it is vitally important that emotions do not end up exhausting them.

Emologists are trained to gain strength from their emotions,
to find the water of tears lifting them as the crest of a wave,
to find the sparkle of laughter warming them as a bright sun,
to find the heat of anger kindling in them a potent flame,
Emologists are trained to become Masters of Feeling.

Thus they are able to heal their clients by teaching them how to experience their own feelings.
