New Social Networking Site : Find A Debate.com

Premise

Have you ever felt like debating a topic, but didn't know where to find someone interested in debating it?

Well, now there is one place on the internet to go to find everyone who is in the mood for a debate.

Website's Style

The website's style will be similar to all the popular social networking sites :
  • Yahoo Answers
  • Facebook
  • Quibblo
  • Twitter
  • Urtak

That is to say the website will :

  • Color Scheme : A palate of 3-4 primary colors which are easy on the eye
  • Font : Large, easily read font. A font unique to the site would be valuable.
  • Profile : The standard ability to create a profile with all the usual elements : avatar, nickname, hobbies, favorite movie, food, book, etc.

Format

Also extremely easy and familiar.

The Yahoo Answers format is perfect for this idea.

The User simply submits their debate topic by writing it up and placing it in the appropriate category.

For example : "Ron Paul's Staunch Anti-Military Interventionist Platform Is The Factor Which Would Insure A Victory If He Became The Republican Nominee Running Against Obama."

The topic would be placed in the Category : Politics and would then appear on the sites main page Debate Hub.

The Debate Hub would be the standard scrolling list of debate topics.

Ideas
  • It would be cool if users could be engaged in multiple debates. It would be simple, like joining multiple chat-rooms. The user would even be able to see the list of all the debates they were participating in on their profile.
