A New Term For An Old Social Inter-Relational Role

You're an Enabler.

The title Enabler is one I hear often in the awesome show House M.D.

It is one of the new social titles that the new age of societal relationships has created.

The word itself has power.
It describes what a person does for others in said capacity.
I thought a new term for a societal position important to me personally, would be a good idea.

Cupid

The old term for this role.

The friend who sets up another friend on a date with someone they feel would be an excellent match.

The friend who puts in a good word for another friend for a job.

The friend who publishes another friend's literary work when the writing friend did not think their work was worth publishing.

The Catalyzer

Someone who makes possible a reaction in life which would not have been possible otherwise (or, very unlikely).

Someone who does for someone, what they wouldn't / couldn't do for themselves.

Urban Dictionary Definition

1. a person who proactively helps another person do something they want, which the wanting person could not or would not do on their own
2. someone who causes or accelerates something desirable to occur for another person or persons, which would have either occurred slowly or not at all
3. an individual who sees someone else is not achieving their potential and gets dynamically involved in the person's life to help them improve it

Carrie struggled to get Mr. Big to commit to her, but her friend's Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda were always ready to act as catalyzer's, and bring the two together.

David is having a very hard time finding his path in life, but he hopes someday he will meet a catalyzer, who can help him open the doors he struggles to open alone.
